The Bees Are Back

KAS Beekeepers Sheila (Assistant Head of Sixth Form) and Chris (teacher of Design & Technology) went on a daring adventure to Berkshire to collect a new Queen Bee and colony. They are a special variety of Buckfast honeybee known to be friendly, high yielding, hardy and easy to work with. The colony moved into the KAS beehive and are settling in well.
There will be opportunities to meet the bees and learn how to work with them coming up soon. Head of Upper School, Al, has already stopped by to say hello. We have invested in student size bee suits, modelled here by Zadie.
