The 127th Annual General Meeting of The King Alfred School Society (KASS or The Society) took place on 11 February 2025.
The agenda for the AGM and minutes of last year’s AGM can be found below.
Two Council members retired by rotation – Jo Lucas and Sarah Philips, who stepped down after decades of service, including 14 years as Treasurer. We are immensely grateful to both for their engagement and commitment to the work involved in being a Council member.
Two Council members, who were retiring by rotation, were re-elected – Grace Edghill and Fiona Hackett. Also retiring by rotation and re-elected to the role of Treasurer was Nick Friedlos.
Two new Council members were elected – Amy Chapman and Marshall Stark.
This year saw Kara Conti step down as President. She gave a wonderful farewell speech, which you can see as part of the recording below, summarising the 40 years she spent championing the school’s special ethos during her time as a parent, as Chair of Council, as Chair of KASparents (or Parent Staff as it was then known), and since 2000, as KASS President.
Annabel Cody was elected as the new President of KASS.
The Report and Accounts for the 13 months ending 31 August 2024 are available below. If you wish to receive a hard copy of all or any documents, please email communications@kingalfred.org.uk.
The AGM Agenda includes proposed resolutions to amend the Articles of Association of the Society (its constitution) relating to the rotation process for Council Members, the tenure of the President and the Treasurer, and certain points of clarification. An explanatory memorandum explaining the reasons for the proposed changes is included in the Agenda. These can be found below.
All amendments were voted through at the 2025 AGM.
