Year 2 Bringing JOY

In 2NP children have been working with the charity JOY (Joining Old and Young) which seeks to bring together the elderly and younger generations through shared activities and experiences.
The children each wrote a letter aiming to bring a smile to the face of some of the elderly members and the charity will be delivering them over the new few weeks and months.
It was one of the founding principles of the school, and one that is very much at the forefront of our minds today, that our students should feel empowered to make a difference in the world. Thinking about others and doing things to improve the lives of others is just one way that our children learn to do this.
The first letter has already been sent out and the charity sent us some photos of the members receiving them and the joy it brought!
Teacher Natalie said: “This was such a wonderful project and an amazing way to show kindness, create bonds and spread joy.”
