Year 2 students have been working on their observation and problem solving skills this week by going on a ‘Waste Hunt’.
The toured the school looking at areas where there were problems including the staff room and KASBucks coffee shop and identified what the problems were. They then spent time thinking about how they could reduce waste in these places.
In a follow up project they decided to put their ideas into action and created baskets woven out of waste newspapers.
Caring about the environment and looking for ways to improve things within our own community is encouraged throughout the Lower School and is often woven into enquiry topics.
