9th November 21
In Modern Foreign Languages, students have been learning about the cultural aspects of Dia de los Muertos, a tradition from Latin America (Mexico) which happens every year on the 1st and 2nd of November. In Year 9 & 10 they have researched and reproduced how people celebrate their dead by building an altar, bringing them flowers, fruit, candles and skulls. Year 6 students made masks, Year 7 sang along to ‘En Mexico’ and students from different year groups watched the film ‘Coco’.
Y9s baked and decorated cupcakes and biscuits; and teachers volunteered to have their faces painted in traditional sugar skull make-up.
