Here’s the latest buzz! The KAS bees are doing well and have produced a good first harvest of honey.
Sheila Hanlon, Assistant Head of 6th Form (and beekeeper) said: “It’s the most delicious thing I’ve ever tasted – hints of wild flowers and caramel and sweet beyond your wildest imagination. It’s absolutely glorious!”
We currently have a crew of teacher-beekeepers and are encouraging students to get involved. The bees are Buckfast Bees, specially developed to be good producers with a docile disposition. They’re perfect school bees and have plenty of work to do around the KAS grounds.
