High Five fundraising success

16th January 19

In the run up to the Christmas break, YR8 pupils were given a fundraising challenge. They were tasked with growing £5 into funds for local charity North London Hospice, using entrepreneurial skills and team work.

Through some hard work and tireless fundraising, they managed to raise a fantastic £920.54 and Jo and Ashra from the charity came along to the school this week to receive the big cheque!

Two groups received special mentions for their fundraising: one group for having raised the most, and another for their creativity after they organised a ‘KAS Has Got Talent’ contest for Lower School pupils.

The High Five Challenge encourages groups of students to think creatively and make the most of their own skills and talents to turn £5 into much more.

Ashra, Community Fundraiser from North London Hospice was thrilled to receive the money. She spoke to the pupils about the Hospice which provides both residential and home care for people with life limiting illnesses and their families. Working across Barnet, Enfield and Haringey they have to raise £10 million a year to keep going so every bit of fundraising counts.

Well done to the whole of YR8 for their efforts and on raising such a great sum.
