First Elected/ Appointed: 2017

About: As a parent of two KAS children, I have seen firsthand how young people can benefit hugely from their KAS education; I can see that in their sense of self and how they take charge of their own learning and lives.

Before joining Council, I was a governor in the state system for a three-form entry infant school in West Finchley. This was a hugely educational and rewarding experience and I wanted to continue that best practice experience and work with a school close to my heart which was also a mirror to my own education at Bedales. As a Tavistock-trained Executive Coach, I value the educational model at KAS and seeing how the staff and students work together to develop the education for each child. You see strength in self-awareness growing in each student as they move through the School. This is evident in the OAs who mention that it’s not until you leave KAS that you realise just what the School has done for you. This is the fuel behind the young lives that KAS helps form, alongside their families, and what makes the difference to their ambition and success.

In my work on Council, I want to support KAS in continuing to develop its model of education and thrive in an ever-challenging world of education, It has a voice that’s important in the landscape and a voice that has never been needed more than now.
