The beginning of the new academic year brought about another Year 7 camp for our latest cohort. This time, the students were taken to Somerset for a week of bonding and activities. A brilliant time was had by all and a couple of Year 7 students recount their experiences:
Ella G: For Year 7 camp we went to Somerset and stayed in tents with bunk-beds – it was rainy but sometimes sunny! I had been camping before but only on the field here at KAS after Covid when we couldn’t go away on camp. It was an amazing way to get to know the new people in our Year. My favourite activity was axe throwing, it was very cathartic.
Charlie: Going away with the new students and all of us who were in Lower School together definitely strengthened the bond of each form. Girls and boys camped on opposite sides of the field but we did all the activities together. I loved axe throwing but my favourite was abseiling, it felt like a once in a lifetime experience.
Ella R: We did an assault course on the first day which was really fun, we got really muddy, I loved it. I may have been the only one who loved it!
Bella: I’m new at King Alfred and it was a great way to get to know people.
