KAS Races at ISA Skiing Nationals

27th September 23

This Autumn Term, a group of students participated in the ISA skiing nationals at Hemel Hempstead Snow Centre. It was fantastic to see them come away with some good results after having half an hour to practice with trained coaches.

The slalom course was set up on a 150m slope and it was clear there were a range of abilities across the 160 races; from those who race all the time, to those intermediate skiers entering a race for the first time. Many in the KAS team were new to racing and all did extremely well, showing confidence, resilience and determination on the course.

Each skier was given two opportunities at the course and were timed. All our students improved throughout their practices and during their two runs; it was wonderful to see all the different year groups supporting each other.

Well done to Polly (Y9) who came 6th out of 54 in the U14 girls race, Felix (Y11) who came 4th out of 83 in the U16 boys and Lorenzo (Y11) who came 4th out of 18 in the U18 boys races.
