Recently, thirty five of our Year 10 historians had the incredible opportunity to spend an intense and stimulating three days in Berlin.
The trip focused on the period when the city was in the thick of the Cold War, a time of spies, daring escape tunnels, and currywurst. Our students visited a former Stasi prison, underground nuclear bunkers (that luckily were never used), the Berlin Spy Museum, and got a taste of Weimar-style cabaret.
Students took a huge amount from the visits – despite the 4am start on Wednesday and the extended walking tour of East German showpiece architecture on Karl Marx Allee (which nearly prompted an overthrow of the trip leaders)!
