Flying Start To The Football Season

29th September 22

Our football teams have been going from strength to strength and there have been some great results in the first few weeks of term.

First up were our Year 10 who took part in a tournament at Ibstock Place. Following on from their success last year where they won the ISA Nationals, they started this year strongly with a great performance.

Head of Sport, Tom said “Our boys ran riot after winning seven out of a possible nine games. They dominated teams with their physicality, organisation and technical skills. A particular mention goes to Louis Z J who scored nine goals and assisted eight, showing exactly why Arsenal have him on their books! It was a privilege to watch a future star. There was also some fine moments with Ossie M saving a penalty, Oscar W B scoring four in one game and Josh S making his first ever appearance for KAS and scoring a penalty. This is a special group of players, many of whom are studying GCSE PE. The future is bright.”

Sixth Form boys (with a few Y11 students) had success against Highgate.

Next it was the turn of our Sixth Form boys who played a friendly against Highgate. It was their first game in three years and they won 4-2 against the Highgate 4th team. Michael D, an unlikely hero as he was playing his first 11-a-side game, stole the show with his hat-trick and assist. Tom said, “My favourite moment was brothers Bogues and Tom playing together for the first time.”
