Joys Found in Lockdown book internal pages and cover

The dark, wintry days of this year’s lockdown feel a distant memory as summer finally seems to have arrived and the world is returning to some semblance of ‘normality’. However, it was only a few months ago that schools were still remote and we were all largely contained within our own homes.

You will hopefully remember the community project we ran during February and March encouraging everyone to submit an image and short comment to a book commemorating the many ways we all managed to find joy in what were undoubtedly very difficult times. There were close to 400 entries from across all areas of the school.

Instigator and organiser of the project, Dan Love said: “I found myself genuinely moved looking through the proof and seeing how we individually and collectively faced such unprecedented challenge. I am extremely excited to say that it is now a finished product!”

You can now secure your copy here: https://yearbook.com/store/king-alfred-2021

The window for ordering will run from today until 21/6, at which point the books will be produced and delivered to school before the end of term.

Thanks again to everyone who participated. The final product is a wonderful record of this very strangest of times.
