Two Sides to Every Poem – Blake-Inspired Verse by Y9

11th February 21

English students in Year 9 have been studying Wiliam Blake’s ‘Songs of Innocence and of Experience’.

Teacher Zoe explains: “These poems are influenced by Blake’s ‘The Lamb’ from ‘Songs of Innocence and ‘The Tyger’ from ‘Songs of Experience’. Blake’s poems in this collection tend to come in pairs with one poem exploring ideas about innocence and one exploring notions of experience.”

Here are two pairs of Blake-inspired poetry.
