Art space renamed in memory of Areta

7th January 20

The run up to Christmas was busy with events across the school including an exhibition dedicated to Council Member, KAS parent and grandparent, Areta Hautman, who passed away in the summer.

The show, which was a thank you to Areta for her enthusiasm and support over many years, took place across the Art and Photography departments.

In Photography the work on show was a retrospective of images and related projects produced by students of the Photography Department since 2011. This reflected Areta’s work with the school archive.

The Art exhibition featured large scale drawings and pinhole photographs by current students which responded to the school environment, another of Areta’s passions.

The show was a chance for the Art Department to announce that the exhibition space outside the Art classrooms will be renamed The Areta Space going forward.
