Each year we take up to 30 new external students into our Sixth Form (Year 12) from a range of other schools. Students are encouraged to attend one of two Sixth Form Open Events in the Autumn Term prior to entry.
In general, external applicants are required to achieve at least five GCSE passes at Grade 6 or above (as required by individual subjects) for entry into our A level courses. The specific GCSE requirements for entry are listed for each subject on the A level courses page.
Applicants are asked to complete our Sixth Form application form. Whilst completing the form you will be asked to upload the last full school report, predicted GCSE results, GCSE mock results and any other relevant reports. Students are invited to complete the section on the form or submit a letter outlining their reason for applying to The King Alfred School. As part of the admissions process we will contact the current school for a reference.
Applicants will be invited in for academic, pastoral and subject specific interviews.
