The whole KAS community is today celebrating our latest inspection report, which has just been published.

Inspectors from the Independent School Inspectorate (ISI) praised the school for helping students become “confident, self-aware young people” who feel “empowered to express themselves freely”. As the report states: “Pupils gain the knowledge to thrive at school and beyond.”

It also highlighted the school’s “nurturing, close-knit school community”, “distinctive and broad educational approach”, and “strong pastoral care”.

Overall, KAS successfully met all five standards against which schools are inspected, with the report capturing many of the elements that make KAS such an exceptional place. Examples include:

  • Our “challenging and engaging” curriculum
  • How students “rise to the challenges and high expectations of the school” and “achieve well overall across subjects, including in exams”
  • The delivery of “effective teaching and well-planned lessons” by teachers who have “strong subject knowledge”
  • How students’ pastoral needs are met through “effective behaviour management” and “strong support for physical and mental well-being”
  • The importance of diversity and inclusion, which is “threaded through the school’s values”
  • Our “robust safeguarding culture”
  • Positive relationships between teachers and students, which make them “feel respected, value their place in the school community, and show respect for one another.”

Responding to the report’s publication, KAS Head Robert Lobatto said: “We’re delighted to have successfully passed our inspection and to receive such a positive report.

“We are pleased inspectors recognised that pupils gain the knowledge to thrive at school and beyond, and highlighted our special community. Inspectors also noted how the importance of diversity and inclusion is threaded through the school’s values, and that pupils recognise their responsibility towards others in a global society.

“Additionally, we’re proud that our distinctive educational approach and quality of teaching were acknowledged, with praise for our Early Years provision, The Village Project, the UAL Performing Arts course, Explorations and School Directed Courses in the Upper School.”
