First Elected/ Appointed: 2021
About: I am the proud parent of two students attending King Alfred (Michelle in Year 3 and Henry in Year 1), with our third child, Sasha, very excited about commencing Reception in September 2021. What ultimately attracted us to send our children to King Alfred was the school ethos, the fact that all of three my kids could go to the same school throughout their education, the absence of excessive formal examination (which I think helps kids get to be kids), and the fabulous outdoor space.
Taking an active role in my children’s education is important to me as a father, and volunteering in this capacity is consistent with the KAS community spirit. I don’t have an agenda, I’m interested in supporting the educational needs of the school and advocating on behalf of the KAS community.
I previously volunteered as a Governor of The Hyde school, an OFSTED-rated Outstanding school, in a north London community unfortunately without many other advantages. During my time as a Governor at The Hyde, I chaired the Finance, Human Resources and Premises committee for three years. This experience has given me considerable insight into how school boards operate and the tensions they must navigate in addressing the needs of disparate stakeholders.
I’ve worked as a solicitor in London since arriving in the UK in 2006 and would be delighted to employ the skills that I have has a solicitor on behalf of Council and the KAS community.
