During Autumn Term, Year 7 were involved in a D&T project focusing on developing their knowledge and understanding of sustainability.
The aim of the project has been to encourage students to avoid today’s ‘throw-away’ attitude towards belongings and to take a more environmentally responsible approach to design. To achieve this KAS students were tasked with designing and making their own aprons for use in D&T practical lessons. Over the next three years (and possibly beyond) students will need to update, maintain and repair their aprons to ensure that they fulfill a safe, useful and long-lasting product life.
We are very proud of the effort that they have put into the project and look forward to seeing the aprons put to good use in the upcoming term.
