With the December frost upon us, KAS has begun to get into the holiday spirit. The last day of term is Wednesday 14 December.
The season begins Friday 1 December, with a Christmas Fair in the Main Hall. On Monday 5 December, author and Christmologist Jonathan Green will present a Christmas Lecture for Sixth Form Enrichment entitled “What is Myrrh Anyways? Everything you’ve Always Wanted to Know About Chritsmas.” The talk will be based on Jonathan’s book Christmas Explained.
The Science Department will be transformed into Santa’s Grotto complete with seasonal science activities and fun events to fundraise for Cancer Research UK. Students are invited to visit the Science Department Grotto on first break, Friday 9 December. Expect marshmallow roasting, decorations with a science theme, and the unveiling of the Electro-chemical Christmas tree.
The annual Christmas Concert takes place Thursday 8 December in the Main Hall at 7:00pm. No ticket is required – please come along on the evening.
All students are invited to Christmas lunch provided by Santa’s helpers in the KAS kitchen on Friday 9 December. Each year, this is a highlight of our holiday calendar and a feast to be remembered!
Our traditional Upper School Christmas sing song takes place on the last day of term, Wednesday 14 December. Rumours are the new staff band will make an appearance! Form classes will also have Christmas parties (details to be provided by tutors)and there will be many other opportunities to get involved and celebrate what the holidays mean to all of us.
