Summer Visit to The Kinniya King Alfred Pre-School, Sri Lanka

10th June 16

Plans for the KAS trip to The Kinniya King Alfred Pre-School in Sri Lanka are coming along nicely. Our spartner school in Sri Lanka was established in the aftermath of the devastating 2004 tsunami as a way of contributing to the rebuilding process and sharing our educational ethos.

Six students from Year 10 and 12 are going along with two teachers. Our plan is to build a playground and do some general maintenance on the building.

We have been fundraising to help with building coats and have also set up a just giving page. Please be assured that all money raised will go directly to the school as we have all paid for our flights and accommodation.

If you would like to make a donation to help support the school, particularly building works to create a playground, the link is

The Kinniya King Alfred Pre-School have also requested children’s books, suitable for all ages. I can arrange for these to be sent in advance of our arrival. Please bring book donations to Jeanette S or Nuray.
