What should The King Alfred School look like in the year 2020? As part of The King Alfred School’s KAS 2020 initiative, we have asked students to share their ideas about the future of our school.
Input into the future vision for KAS including the attributes we aspire to develop in students has been sought from the whole school community. All staff, including Lower and Upper School teaching and support staff, discussed KAS 2020 at our inset day at the start of term. Upper and Lower School have since followed up on their work at staff meetings.
Parents were consulted at two parent forums held last week and earlier this week. Students are also having their say at sessions held by Robert, Head of KAS for each year group across the school.
You can see a few images of YR10 in action creating their ideal student, by adding criteria on sticky notes to an giant paper outline. Ideas were allocated to head for thinking skills, heart for pastoral and social wellbeing, and hands and feet for practical knowledge.
The ideas collected at staff, parent, and student forums will be mapped against the KAS framework and used to develop KAS 2020.
All involved to date will agree that it has been an interesting and inspirational process to and a meaningful way to contribute to KAS 2020.
