Educational Visits and Activities Policy.
The King Alfred School accepts health and safety responsibilities not only on the school’s premises, but also when students visit other venues. School trips are planned in advance, with appropriate risk assessments being carried out. Any coaches and mini-buses used are fitted with seat belts and adult supervision is maintained in accordance with government guidelines. Full details of visits are sent to parents, who are asked to sign a consent form and give details of any medical issues of which staff should be aware.
Procedures are set out for action in an emergency situation. Fortunately, these are very rare.
