Health and Safety Policy.

The King Alfred School recognises its responsibilities towards pupils, staff, parents and visitors to provide, as far as is reasonably practicable, a safe environment. Council seeks to achieve a balance between practicable safety precautions and reasonable levels of risk that may be retained in support of The King Alfred School ethos and style of education. Risk assessment is an essential part of health and safety management.
The Health and Safety Committee, chaired by the Bursar and comprising members of staff and Council, co-ordinates health and safety issues and monitors policy implementation, procedures and safety performance. The policy sets out the Health and Safety responsibilities that apply to all members of staff and details certain responsibilities that relate to specific members of staff. Appropriate training is provided.
