 Aims of the curriculum
The Curriculum is the development of social, emotional, cultural and intellectual knowledge and experience within
a school. We would like to maximise the benefits of being one school so that children can progress and each
achieve their individual potential. We hope to provide a secure environment in which all children are encouraged
to be inquisitive, discuss ideas and listen to each other without fear, over-anxiety or pressure of external tests.
We want to produce confident young people who increasingly become independent learners. We should work in
a partnership between home and school.
-To maintain continuity and progress from Lower School to Middle School.
-To have children who are active participants in their own learning.
-To provide a curriculum that is challenging, motivating and which encourages creativity.
-To value high level thinking and learning in and out of the classroom as well as simple measurable outcomes. To
make high expectations known and achievable.
-To value those with different abilities and to generate self-esteem.
-To develop social responsibility within and beyond the school.
