The Drama Department

The King Alfred School Drama department provides for all students of all abilities. Students have the opportunity to get involved in drama in class, in drama clubs, creative writing clubs, Callovers (school assemblies), curriculum and extra-curricular productions and competitions such as National Theatre Connections and the BBC Shakespeare monologues.

Students have classes in Drama in middle school once a week and class sizes are around 16. At GCSE, the classes range from 10-18 and in A level from 3-9. The small classes allow for more individual attention and student-centred learning. The department focuses on a wide range of performance skills and also drama as a learning medium.
