Play
The school values play and the freedom to play. The importance of life outside lessons is fully realised and a wide-range of non-curricular activities are available, both in and around school.
Spaces to play and time to play are an important aspect of life at The King Alfred School. Whether child or adult initiated, it is the natural way in which young children go about the business of learning; a way of integrating and consolidating skills and understanding. Play is a crucial part of educating the whole child which is why the school insists on preserving and trying to enlarge its natural environment. Our students are offered the chance to engage in a whole range of active learning situations, including many opportunities to develop their social as well as their physical skills.
